William Nanda Bissell grew up in Delhi. After a BA degree from the US, he returned to India to start an artisans’ cooperative in rural Rajasthan. Later he joined Fabindia, the company his father, John Bissell, had established, and built it into one of the world’s largest craft-based marketing organizations. Today, William Bissell works with over 40,000 crafts people and Fabindia is one of India’s best-known brands.
