Abhik Ray, a former deputy general manager of the State Bank of India, was associated with the history project of the bank for more than three decades. He is the author of The Evolution of the State Bank of India, The Era of the Imperial Bank of India, 1921–1955 (Volume 3) and The Era from 1955 to 1980 (Volume 4). He has presented papers at several international conferences. Ray was also closely associated with the setting up of India’s largest banking museum in Kolkata
