Dorling Kindersley India
     
Dorling Kindersley is a based publishing house, creating high quality illustrated non-fiction books that offer comprehensive information and superb design. It is a part of the Pearson Group which also consists of The Penguin Group and The Financial Times.
Since 1974, Dorling Kindersley has published an extensive range of internationally acclaimed titles in 51 languages for adults and children. As the UK's market leader in illustrated non-fiction, we pride ourselves on creating books that combine comprehensive information and superb design.
Over the years, as the world's leading family illustrated publisher, we have inspired and informed readers who find DK books to be educational, distinctive and of consistently high quality.
Dorling Kindersley India is looking for enthusiastic individuals who can constantly deliver high quality work to fill the following vacancies:
 Sr. Editors / Editors, applicants should:
• Be a Graduate/Post-graduate in English literature with 2-5 years relevant work   experience, preferably in the publishing industry or news media
• Be fast, accurate on-screen English-language editors and proofreaders.
• Cope well with managing high workloads, tight deadlines and working as part of a   diverse team.
  Designers, applicants should:  
 

• Have a degree in design from a reputed design/ art Institute.
• Be creative and have an eye for detail.
• Be well versed with design packages such as Quark, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Experience in book design will be an added advantage.

 
  Cartographer, applicants should:  
 

•Have 0-2 years of experience in map making.
• Graduate/post graduate in Geography or Geology.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe illustrator and Freehand MX in the context of map making.

  Penguin Books India  
   
  A promotions executive will have to assist with Penguin India events including book launches, book fairs and exhibitions and interact effectively with the media and authors.  
 
• Should be a Graduate. (Preferably in mass communication).
• Relevant work experience of two years.
• Excellent command over the English language.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
 
 
 
  Executive - Online Marketing (Delhi)  
  Executive - Online Marketing will be primarily responsible to devise and coordinate promotions for the Penguin India website, and coordinate updation and maintaining the site on a regular basis.  
 
• Should be a Graduate.
• Two years in similar environment – online marketing – preferred.
• Excellent command over the English language.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Should have the basic technical knowledge of the workings of a website.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
 
 
 
  Designer (Delhi)  
  You will be involved in the design of Penguin titles, including liaising with freelance designers, illustrators, photographers, as well as our production and editorial departments. The ideal candidates should :  
 
• Have an Art/Design degree from a recognized art institute.
• Have minimum 2-3 years’ work experience in magazine/book design/advertising
• Be proficient with IT systems (familiar with Mac) and have knowledge of In Design,QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop, and other graphic design software
• Have the ability to translate cover briefs/design briefs into excellent and imaginative design
• Have strong organization and interpersonal skills, and ability to work on their own initiative.
